As internationally acclaimed Dancehall superstar, Busy Signal faces possible extradition to the United States, the prominent singjay has hired some strong legal representation to help him fight the case.

The artiste, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, was taken into custody on an extradition warrant at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Monday afternoon. Law enforcement officials revealed that the These Are The Days singer has been under investigation since 2002 when he allegedly fled the United States while awaiting sentencing on a drug-related charge. In addition to being wanted on drug-related charges in the United States, Busy Signal has also been suspected of using false.

But the highly acclaimed artiste refuses to back down as he’s hired the law firm of the Queen’s Counsel, K.D. Knight to help him fight his extradition case. The Knight, Junor and Samuels law firm will represent Busy Signal when the singjay heads to the Half Way Tree Magistrates Court on Thursday to know his fate in the matter.

In a press release issued late Tuesday, Knight said, “I am expecting him to be in court on Thursday, and between now and Thursday, I will make a determination as to the approach on that day.”

Meanwhile, Busy Signal’s arrest may not only cost him freedom for the foreseeable future, but it could also cause him to lose a major endorsement deal. According to theJamaica Gleaner, the head of marketing for Pepsi-Cola Jamaica Limited, Carlo Redwood revealed that the company has stopped running Pepsi Bubbla ads featuringBusy Signal as they review their relationship with the prominent artiste and will decide their next step in terms of advertising.

Busy Signal has also been a central commercial figure forRed Label Wine as he’s featured in several advertisements for the brand.
